Dr. Seuss Can Rhyme Can You?

For our Second Steps lesson, we talked about playing fair again. These two girls are good friends and wanted to play with different toys at choice time. We discussed how they could share, trade or take turns.

On Friday we read The Worst Day of My Life Ever. We talked about how we all have rough days but how sometimes our rough days are because we didn't follow directions and listen. We talked about the importance of following directions at school and listening to our parents at home.

We read lots of Dr. Seuss books this week to learn about Dr. Seuss as an author.

We continued our reading playdates last week. We focused more on acting out our books to further our comprehension.

Small Group Instruction: Students work with me in small groups. Each group has different skills they are working on. Some groups are working on vowel combinations.

Writing: We continue working on persuasive writing. We are writing letter primarily, trying to convince others with reasons and fix it ideas.

Choice Time: We have a Choice Time list that we choose from each day. Students choose four choices.  If one activity is not cleaned up, then it may be closed the next day.

On Wednesday, we had a few parent visitors come to the music performance to see a day in the life of a kindergartener in music class. It was great fun and the kids loved having more adults to perform for.

We have a field trip coming up on April 4th to the Missouri Botanical Gardens. We plan to leave at 9:15, and come back at 12:30. We will be trying to eat at Stacy Park, weather permitting. Therefore, your child can pack a lunch or buy a school sack lunch.
