Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

We had a beautiful day at Thies Farm pumpkin patch yesterday. Here are some photos from our parent volunteers.

Illustrator Visit

We were lucky to have famous illustrator, Ed Steckley, come and visit us on Tuesday. He is the illustrator of Rube Goldberg Simple Normal Humdrum School Day. He talked to the kids about how he loved to draw growing up and how he became an illustrator. He even drew Rube for us on his iPad!

KG Activities

Lots has been going on in KG this week! Each student had the chance to read one of their books in their book bags to the class. Most of the students wanted me to hold their books so I did not capture more pics. There are some photos of students showing our concentration circle we have each morning, where we find a focal point and focus before signing our "daily contract" with our bodies. We also earned 150 SOAR tickets so we ate lunch together outside on Monday! 

Olivette Firemen Came to Visit

In celebrating Community Helpers this week, the Olivette Firemen came to visit us! They gave us a tour of their trucks and taught us all about what to do in case of a fire. He told the students their homework was to make sure they know their address in case they ever needed to call 911 and report an emergency. Be sure to have a conversation with your child about your address and your family meeting place outside if there were ever a fire in your home.
