Week 12

Please read the OB newsletter

This week in our social skills lesson we talked about apologizing even when it is an accident. We practiced saying it and talked about why it is important.

This week, we talked about reading more challenging books. We looked at different books and talked about what makes a book more challenging. We looked at how to tackle tricky words. We continue to practice our phonics, focusing now on forming words with blends at the beginning and ends of words. Each student practiced reading out of his or her book box to practice reading more challenging books.

Working with blends!

In science, we identified parts of a plant and talked more about what plants need to survive. We observed our radish seeds grow! Students labeled one of our plants on their iPads. We looked at pictures of different types of plants and looked at how they were alike and different.

In math this week, we learned about combining groups to add together. We talked about "how many in all?" We also looked at numbers focusing on the vocabulary more and fewer, identifying which numbers were more or fewer/less.

Dr. R, our assistant principal, came to read us a brand new book titles Stumpkin. The students loved it!

The Fall Party was great fun. Thank you to Lisa Moore and Jennifer Soshnik for organizing. The kids had great fun playing Bingo and playing other various games.

PE time! Today, the classes collected leaves in buckets. They had a blast!

Mrs. Lombardo came today to do an enrichment activity with us today.
