Week 21

Please read the OB Newsletter!

We hope to see you tomorrow at OB at 9:00 for our MLK Day community service project! There will be various service projects for you and your child to partake in.  Please remember you can donate fruit snacks or juice boxes tomorrow to help put together snack packs for children in need.

This week in our social skills lesson, we learned more about managing disappointment. We talked about times we were disappointed or didn't get what we wanted and how we handled it. We talked about sibling rivalry and how getting revenge is not a good way to solve the problem.

In social studies, we talked more about community and neighborhoods. We talked about places within the community, then students made their own maps.

Partner reading during quiet time!

This week we met with our OB families and did a service project of making a blanket for those who need warmth. Ask your child about it.

In phonics, we are focusing on our vowel power. Students worked in their rug clubs to sort words by their vowel sound.

We do calendar every day to reinforce skills we've already learned in math.

In math, we worked on skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s.

In writing, we are continuing to work on our how to stories.

Mrs. Arnold came and did an important lesson on loving ourselves.
