Reader's Workshop
During reading, we began talking about "information" book (non-fiction) and story books (fiction.) Students sat with a partner and explored information books and realized they can learn just from looking at the pictures. Then, we also looked at many symbols that students recognize from stores or shows. Next, students explored some games to practice with letter identification. Last, students worked with different shaped sticks to create mat man. These sticks will be used to create letters and assist with handwriting.

What an exciting day today viewing the moon pass in front of the sun. We even heard the crickets chirp!! We had such a great view and the students did an excellent job keeping their glasses on.

Friday in KG
KG got to go to art today with Mrs. Roth! We also learned more routines around the building and within our classroom. We read "No David!" and talked about what strong and weak choices are in our classroom. Sometimes we may make weak choices, but learn from them. We also experienced our first fire drill outside.

First Day Jitters
KG had an excellent first day! We read the book "First Day Jitters" and talked about how we were are feeling. Most students said they were feeling "excited" and "nervous." We started to learn some of our routines and had a great time in library. Many students said they were feeling tired so rest time was a big hit today!
Here are a few photos from our day!
